The process of gathering, observing, analysing and reporting information regarding language and associated communication, primarily for decision-making and planning.

Why do we assess?
A
- Identify if (or not) language/communication disorder is present.
- Understand the nature and aetiology of an identified language disorder.
- Identify a child’s strengths and challenges as well as family/significant others’ concerns and priorities.
- Guide next steps for management and intervention.
- Monitor development and progress of intervention.
