Module 3 Flashcards
What is the role of the education presenter?
Education Presenters will provide at-risk populations with the tools to take control of their eye health and reduce the risk of diagnosis. Facilitators will:
- introduce the topic of the presentation and the agenda of the session
- discuss disease information
- outline risk factors
- inform attendees about MDFA and other support services.
- Now that you know the roles of being an education session presenter, we will now look at how to go about doing this.
What should be taken into consideration when speaking to the public about AMD?
- Simple language: It is important that the disease information is delivered in easy-to-understand language. It sometimes helps to use analogies and pause for questions.
- Considerate language: You will be speaking with attendees who are at risk of being diagnosed with AMD. Your presentation should strike a balance between the gravity of an AMD diagnosis and self-empowerment to make a difference.
