Bank shareholder
A group that collectively owns the bank and provides its share capital
Bank stakeholder
Individual or group that has an interest in the bank, and who affects the bank and is affected by the banks performance and operations
Economic sustainability
Practises allocate resources so that short term growth does not compromise longer term economic development or harm society
Environmental sustainability
Ability to maintain an ecological balance in the natural environment to conserve natural resource to support the well being of current and future generations
Mission statement
Business overall purpose
Paris Agreement
A legally binding international treaty on climate change adopted in Paris in 2016
Social sustainability
Practises that allow all members to of society to have the opportunity to thrive and live in a healthy, fair way
Statement of objectives
Specifies the outcomes that a business aims to achieve
Sustainable Development Goal (17)
A set of 17 goals/objectives developed by the United Nations and aimed at reducing poverty and protecting the planet.
UN Principles for Responsible Banking
Principle that provides a framework for banks with the overall goal of defining the banking industry role and responsibilities in creating a sustainable future
Aligned to the United Nations, Paris of Agreement on Climate change and Sustainable development goals
Values Statement
It communicates the core principles and ideas that guide an organisation strategy and defines how it should operate
Vision statement
Sets out the business aspirations for the future and designed to enthuse stakeholder, gain their commitment and stretch their performance.
