What is a server?
- A powerful computer that stores files and applications.
- Other computer/ devices on the same network can access the server.
- The devices that access the server are known as clients.
What are nodes and clients?
A node is a network-connected device that can send or receive information.
A client is a node that accesses the network through a server.
Give my employees access to our company´s files.
Server. Servers allow multiple users to access files from a central location.
Hide my IP address when I go online.
Proxy server. Proxy servers hide IP addresses from the Internet.
Stop malicious traffic affecting my network.
IDS/ IPS. Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS) monitor and report malicious activities.
Intrusion Prevention Systems (IPS) identify and stop malicious traffic items.
Ensure network users receive only traffic meant for them.
Router. Routers direct network traffic to specific recipients.
I want to set an alert to for any suspicious network activity.
