Integrated software
software that combines the common productivity software into 1 package.
Proprietary software
owned by someone and may only be used under a licence agreement
EULA
(End User Licence Agreement) A legal agreement that describes what you may and may not do with the software
Single user licence
Can only install one copy of the software
Site licence
Allows a company an unlimited amount of installations of the software within the organisation.
Freeware
Fully functioning software that can be used and copied without any restrictions
Shareware
Software that is restricted and can only use it for a certain amount of time or use certain features. You would need to pay for the full version of the program.
OSS
(Open source software) may be freely used, modified and distributed as you have access to the source code
Utility programs
used to assist the user to perform maintenance tasks.
Compression
Creating a copy of 1 or more files which are smaller in size. ( WinZip and winRAR compresses and decompresses files)
Backup utility
Specialised program used to make sure that all your files are backup correctly.
Drivers
Software that allows your computer to communicate with hardware or devices
