Responsibilities of citizens
Responsibilities of citizens refer to duties and obligations that citizens are required to follow
The constitution
The interplay between rights and responsibility in aims to create a society where rights are protected and individuals actively contribute to the well being and progress of the nation
Examples of rights and responsibilities
Right to equality- responsibility to treat others with fairness
Right to life- Responsibility to respect and protect the lives of others
Right to dignity- responsibility to treat others with dignity and avoid discrimination
Right to freedom of expression- responsibility to exercise freedom of speech and avoid hate crime
Right to education- responsibility to value and prioritize education
Right to access healthcare- responsibility to take care of ones health and well being
Right to access to housing- responsibility to respect property rights
Rights to freedom of assembly and association- responsibility to exercise the freedom of association in a peaceful and lawful manner
Right to freedom of religion,belief, and opinion- responsibility to respect the rights of others
Right to a fair trial and due process of law- responsibility to uphold the principles of justice
