Four levels of sedation

A
  1. Mininal: anxiolysis normal verbal response
  2. Moderate: conscious sedation purposeful movement and responds to light touch
  3. Deep Sedation: responds to repeated or painful stimuli; risk of respiratory/cardiovascular compromise
  4. General Anesthesia: unarousable to pain, reflex withdrawal; risk of respiratory/cardiovascular compromise
