Module 1 - Defining Cloud Computing Flashcards
NIST definition of cloud computing
Cloud computing enables ubiquitous, convenient, on-demand network access to a shared pool of configurable computing resources that can be rapidly provisioned and released with minimal management effort or service provider interaction.
Shared Pools
A lot for computing resources are available for use.
service sare provided in a multitenant environment.
The organisation does not control the IT resources or even the location of the data.
Rapid Provisioning
Companies can increase or decrease their cloud usage whenever they choose to do so.
They have more flexibility in how they use their resources
Minimal Management effort
Task can be automated
Cloud resources can be programmed for ‘self-provisioning’
Why are organisation turning to cloud
Innovation Velocity - Self-service delivery
Growth - Resources available on-demand
Cost Flexability - Metered Consumption
Consistency of Service - Platform Robustness
Cloud containers
Objects to move around data. Different providers are
Docker, kubernetes, AWS ECS, cloud foundry, Azure Container services.
