Western- give client instructions to go into trance and then client self-trances. Eastern- wells up their life force and fills the atmosphere with trance state so the client can enter and go into trance with that state.

Define the critical factor.
A gatekeeper and filtering mechanism of the conscious mind. It examines incoming ideas through a filtering screen from past experiences and interpretations. Anything you say “yes” to gets delivered to the subconscious.
