- a mental attitude or inclination
- is a series of self-perceptions or beliefs people hold about themselves. These determine behavior, outlook and mental

Carol Dweck, (Professor of Psychology at Stanford University) identified two types of people’s mentality or mindset.
➢ Fixed mentality or Fixed mindset
➢ Growth mentality or Growth mindset
see’s individuals’ abilities as innate traits and sees failure as a lack of basic skills needed.
FIXED MENTALITY/MINDSET
see’s themselves capable to gain any ability through hard work and persistence
GROWTH MENTALITY/MINDSET
praising someone’s talents or labeling them as
“smart,” promotes a fixed mindset.
Personal praise
emphasizes the effort a person puts in to
accomplish a task
Process praise
involves assigning people characteristics based on stereotypes or associations with different groups.

HOW TO UNFIX A FIXED MINDSET

o Pay attention to your words and thoughts
o Take on challenges

is the feeling before thinking, it is
