Choice – Ems gives voters more choice as there are two ballot papers, one choo a constituency MMP and the other chooses seven cross-party regional MSP. I’ve also has choice as they can double or split, therefore, especially in a safe seat example – they constituency MSP for Eastwood is Jackson Carlow

Discrimination the regional list is closed, means voters don’t see the names of people put forward by parties so can’t be racist or sexist. For example, Pam Gossow was the first ethnicity minority women to be elected in the west of Scotland 2021.
