Because it could affect the results

Pay for billboards, social media adverts and create party political broadcasts which are shown on TV

Last minute canvassing, make sure everyone who supports them votes for them and stand by polling stations to try get people to vote for them and their party
Why do you think parties focus more on people they know will vote for them?
Because they want to keep the people who supports
them votes and not lose them to try and get more
