What is the biomedical model of health?
A
Defines body and mind as separate substances. Body is a machine, images and emotions are important. Only biomedical favours of illness are considered.

What is the social model of health?
A
The body lives in a social world. This model recognises the effects of heredity, sex and age. Health is affected by individual lifestyle factors, social and community networks and social factors outside personal control.
