Model of Cells Flashcards
What is the function of a vacuole?
To store food, liquids and waste food
What is the cytoplasm?
-It is a jelly-like substance that fills a cell.
- It is where most of chemical reactions take place.
What is the function of a nucleus?
It controls all cell actives that take place within a cell.
What is the function of the cell membrane?
Controls the movements into and out of the cell.
What is the function of the Cell wall?
-It gives the cell a rigid and regular shape.
-protects and supports the entire cell.
What is the function of the Chloroplast?
To allow photosynthesis to take place and make food for the plant.
*How is a tissue formed
Cells of the same type form a tissue that lines the ( organ, eg small intestine ) and performs a specific function
*How is an organ formed?
( organ, eg small intestine ) is an organ made up of different tissues, muscle tissue and blood tissue, that that work together to perform a specific function.
*How is a system formed?
( system eg: digestive system ) is made up of different organs, such as the stomach, small intestine and large intestine. All of the organs work together to perform a specific function.
*How is an organism formed?
The human is an organism made up of all the organ systems working together to perform various functions.
What is present in both animal and plant cells.
Cell membrane, cytoplasm, nucleus and vacuole
What is found in a plant cell but not found in an animal cell?
Cell wall and chloroplast
