MOCK (CASEY) Flashcards
introduce yourself
Im Casey Koller or Koller Shipping and Koller Campbell Air LLC, Im first and foremost a feminist, but I am also a successfull bussiness woman running a multi-million dollar company! oh and I also popularized the #girlboss
what do you do for a living
I am the Vice President of External Relations at Koller Shipping, it’s a family bussiness so ig you could say that hard work runs in my blood haha! Anyways, Im much more than my family’s name, Im an independent woman in bussiness, thats part of the reason i started Koller Campbell Air LLC with Reese
who is Reese
Reese is.. was…my partner, we worked side by side everyday. I admired his drive to no end. He was such a bright light, I cant even believe hes gone it doesnt feel real
how did u meet Reese
Reese was a former attorney for the shipping company, From the jump he was so motivated to start the LLC with me. With his drive, smarts, plans and passion I couldnt say no! Sounded like a great investment. I suggested we name it “CASEY AIR” ah just sorta rolls off the tounge but reese was set on naming it koller campbell air llc ugggg SNOOOZE FEST, a bit of a boring name if you ask me
how did you decide to start a business together
Reese and I both invested into the LLC, Reese actually put in all of his life savings, he really believed in the vision. I mean with that kind of money.. you have to be on guard
what do you mean by that (money)
Our assets amounted to 5 million dollars. It took a lot of risk on our end to put that much money into the company so we were always very protective of it, and continue to be. We often had to deal with people trying to get money from the company without proper reasoning.
why did you invest
Reese loved flying at the end of the day, he spent all his time talking about planes, advancing his licenses, and ofc talking about flying.
For me, I was game bc sight seeing had the potential to be lucrative, I have no problem supporting a budding entrepreneur’s dreams as long as it has potential.
so0 how did you get involved in today’s case
Well, unfortunately on July 4th, Reese and a friend got into a terrible plane accident that led to a tragic crash. I couldn’t believe it when i heard he was involved.
How did you find out (about case)
Well I was on my boat earlier that day with my family and the skies were as clear as could be. But we did eventually hear this crazy noise, like a loud BOOM! Afterwards, I noticed heavy pillowing smoke coming from the mountain area, it was so much smoke I assumed it was a fire! The next morning I saw on the news that a plane crashed, then I learned it was Reese’s. It all felt so sudden and confusing.
What do you know about the plane
the model was a N985MT, a horizon four seater I think? Again, planes were mainly Reese’s expertise. But I do now the name of one of our plane technicians, Mandy Navarra, she had done the initial inspection of that plane.
What did Navarra do?
She basically checked the plane, earlier that year she was the one who notified us that the oil was dirty
what were your next steps
When Navarra raised the issue Reese and I obviously refused to fly it until everything was fixed, so we put the plane on standby until we could be given a professional opinion that flying it would be safe, the “greenlight”We got that greenlight in June and so Reese started flying again.
Aside from July 4th did Reese every fly?
Reese had been training day in and day out for his certification, he had the VFR certification and he was proud to say the LEAST, I was proud of him too, really he deserved it, anyways yes he did
were you ever concerned about Reese’s flying
I was usually just concerned that he would talk our customers to insanity! Boy he could talk and talk about planes all day. I do remember though that around that time Reese came down with the flu, or a cold? He took some medication to treat it.. Fullerton i think?
Do you know anything about Fullerton?
Well ik that Reese was taking it for a cold. Me? A cold is nothing Ive worked full days with an 103 fever! But to each his own. I am also familiar with the prescription that Reese had for it
