What are the mobile design guidelines?
- Design for simplicity
- Minimize user input
- Minimize vertical scrolling, avoid vertical horizontal scrolling
- Prioritize information in each screen
- Useful error messages, feedback
- Ensure fast system response time
- Relate visual precedence to task importance
- Need to be focused, more is not better
- Navigation should be narrow and shallow
- Keep the most important features
What are some common and newer gestures?
Common: Swipe left or right, pinch to zoom(2 fingers), rotate (2 fingers)
Newer gestures: Press & hold (3D touch), more than 3 fingers, Gaze, Face ID, “Air”
What are mobile constraints?
Resource-poor relative to static devices, finite energy source, mobile connectivity highly variable and inherently hazardous.
