What is MLC?

A

It is a Major International convention setting out minimum working and living conditions for seafarers.

The fourth Pillar of the IMO.

The requirements are set out across 5 titles of Concern.

A

A

Interim MLC issued to the ship.

DMLC Pt2 sent to Flag.

once Flag has completed initial inspection. Vessel is issued with MLC Cert with DMLC Pt1 attached.

What is DMLC1 and DMCL2?

A

DMLC1 is completed by the Flags State setting out regulations for Compliance across 16 key areas of MLC

DMLC2 is completed by the Company and outlines the measure the shipowner has put inlace to ensure ongoing compliance with the flag states requirements.

What is no more favourable treatment with regards MLC?

A

No more favourable treatment means that unlike other conventions where a foreign flagged vessel that has not ratified a particular convention that the country they are arriving in has, they could be in close compliance. But with MLC the convention must be 100% fully complied with.

A

MARLINS Test
Advanced Fire Fighting
