How often do you have to cite inside the paper?
Each and every time you use information you got from somewhere else.
Where do you put the parenthesis?
At the end of a sentence in which you have quoted or paraphrased information
When you are quoting information from the same source in the same paragraph?
Cite it each time a different page is used.
But does that mean I’m going to have a parenthesis after practically every sentence?
YES!!!
When you have two articles by the same, author, you cite them by:
Putting the author’s last name and an abbreviated title of the article in the parenthesis
If there are two authors for an article you are citing:
Use both authors last names
What if there are a gazillon authors
Use only the first last name
You cite a website by:
Putting the name of the website in parenthesis
Whatever is listed first in those citations is what you put in parenthesis at the end of your sentences in the paper.
What do you need to cite?
Everything that is used that isn’t common knowledge…
What do you include in a Works cited list at the end of the paper?
List only those sources from which you paraphrased or quoted.
How do you figure out how to list things in the Works Cited?
Use Easybib.com, Look at the pages that describe how in the class reader. Use your Library 10 book.
