Mixed ANOVA (L14) Flashcards
1
Q
Why is it called a 3 way mixed ANOVA?
A
3 IVs and a mixed design
eg. 4 way = 4 IVs
2
Q
What is a mixed design?
A
At least 1 IV uses same participants.
At least 1 IV uses different participants.
3
Q
What does the SPSS output tell us about the main effects of each IV?
A
ANOVA gives us an F-value for the main effect of each IV
4
Q
How many two way interactions are given?
A
F-ratios for two way interactions are given for every possible IV pair
Eg. IV1 x IV2, IV1 x IV3 and IV2 x IV3
5
Q
How many three way interactions are given for a 3 way mixed ANOVA?
A
1 - IV1 x IV2 x IV3
6
Q
Does assumption of sphericity could for a mixed ANOVA?
A
Yes! Mauchly test still needs to be applied (still needs 3 levels)
