mix Flashcards
which radiographic device shows real-time images by sending sound waves into the body which then bounces back to create an image?
u/s
why can’t u/s capture images of lung or bones?
bcz lungs are filled with air, which is not a good medium for sound waves to be transmitted in;
and bones are so dense & calcified, they strongly reflect the waves
What is the source of image data in CT?
Difference of Attenuation of radiofrequency signals
What is the source of image data in MRI ?
Relaxation time of excited hydrogen atoms in the tissue
List most resistant tissues to least resistent
Tissue cells[bone& nervous syst]
Blood vessels
Skin cells
Reproductive organ cells
Digestive syst cells
Red blood cells
White blood cells
Which radiation is non-ionizing?
MRI and U/S
CT number=
Hounsfield unit
How does MRI work?
The hydrogen inside the body are excited by RF pulse then after relaxation we receive the signal from H+ relaxation time
What is inside the superconductive magnet in MRI?
Helium and nitrogen
When losing ur superconductivity means losing the magnetic field which leads to…?
QUENCH
**Before which radiographic tests do you ask for blood creatine levels?
Before performing angiography and iodinated contrast CT
Anterior contour of heart=
Right ventricle
Posterior contour of heart=
Left atrium &left ventricle
Cardiac enlargement is over what %?
> 50%
When do you ask for a CT or MRI for heart pathology[indications]?
Cardiac tumor, thrombus, calcification,
Myocardial perfusion
Demostration of coronary arteries
