Mitosis and Meiosis Flashcards
3 PARTS OF INTEPHASE
Gap 1
Synthesis
GAP 2
4 PHASES OF MITOSIS
Prophase
Metaphase
Anaphase
Telophase
It is the splitting of cytoplasm
Cytokinesis
Alternative traits
Alleles
Responsible for the formation of gametes/ sex cells
Miosis
Takes place in body cells called somatic cells
Mitosis
Phase where the cell undergoes physical growth
GaP 1
Phase where dna replicates
Synthesis phase
Phase in mitosis where the chromatins condense into chromosomes. The nucleus also disintegrates and the chromosomes move away from each other.
Prophase
Phase in mitosis where the chromosomes aligns in the middle
Metaphase
Phase in mitosis where the chromosomes breaks down and turns into sister chromatic. It would later on move to south and north pole
Anaphase
Phase in mitosis is when the newly formed cell gains a nucleus. The chromosomes becomes chromatins.
Telophase
The phase where the cytoplasm splits up
cytokinesis
Chromosomes that are identical in size and position
Homologous chromosomes
Also known as sex cells
Gametes
It composes of 4 chromatids
Tetrads
Phase in miosis where it usually follows what prophase in mitosis do. But, It forms into a tetrad
Prophase 1
A phase in miosis where the tetrads/chromosomes align in the middle
Metaphase 1and 2
A phase in miosis where the chromosomes move in toward in the opposite of the cell
Anaphase 1
A phase in miosis where the nucleus appears again
Telophase and telophase 2
A phase in miosis where the chromosome do not pair up, Although the nucleus dissapears
Prophase
