Why do cells divide

A

Organisms divide in order to grow or replace cells that have been damaged. Dead cells must be replaced asexually by cells division.

Mitosis

A

Duplication of a cell and all its parts. It duplicates the DNA and two new cells (daughter cells) inherit exactly the same DNA pieces and genetic code. Two identical copies come from one original

Interphase

A

Normal state of cell during which it is completing its ductions. During interphase is when DNA is replicating and by the end of the phase it has made an identical copy of itself. Two replicated, identical copies o each chromosome are called are chromatid and are connected and held together at the centromere
