Mitosis Flashcards
1
Q
Prophase
A
Chromatin becomes condensed thread like structures called chromosomes
2
Q
Metaphase
A
Nucleous and Nuclear membrane disappear
Chromosomes are thick and arranged on the equatorial plane of the cell
3
Q
Anaphase
A
Two sister chromatids of each chromosomes separate due to splitting of centromere and move towards opposite poles
Daughter chromosomes during their movement appear V J I and L shaped depending upon the position of the centromere
4
Q
Telophase
A
Daughter chromosomes reach opposite poles
Nuclear membrane and nucleoli reappear. thus, two daughter nuclei appear at opposite poles
