What is the purpose of Misuse of Drug Regulations 2001?
- To control drugs liable to abuse

What are the example of CD S3? (CD NoReg)
- Not register required
- small number of minor stimulate such as Benzphetamine
- others: PHENOBARBITAL, meprobamate, midazolam, TEMAZEPAM, BUPRENORPHINE, TRAMADOL, diethyl propion, flunitrazepam

- Not permitted for S2 and S3 except phenobarbital(S3) for epilepsy - 5 days supply
- Allowed for S4 and S5 - 30 days supply like the usual POM
- Emergency supplies to a practitioner with a written requisition within 24 hours
Can a messenger be allowed to collect supplies requested from a written requistion?
Yes, a messenger with written authority
How should a destruction of OUT OF DATE S2 CD be done?
- In the presence of authorised witness
* Details of date & quantity destroyed must be recorded in CD register and signed by witness
Does destruction of PATIENTS’ RETURNED S2 CD needed to be done with an authorised witness?
- No, it can be done without an authorised witness
* However, a witness is still required ie a pharmacy staff
Destruction of CDs rendered irretrievable applies to which class of CDs?
S2, S3 & S4 part 1

- Part 1 - CD Benz contains the benzodiazepines
* Part 2 - CD Anab contains the anabolic steroids

- Yes, if they are travelling with CD S2, 3 and 4 (part 1 and 2) for 3 calendar months or more
- and carrying more than 3 months of supply
