Can you provide an example from your past experience where you embodied one of our values?
Certainly. One of your core values is respect. In my previous role, I worked within a diverse team with members from different cultural backgrounds. It was crucial to ensure that everyone felt valued and heard. I always made an effort to understand each team member’s perspective and created an inclusive environment where everyone felt respected and empowered.
How do you see our values aligning with your personal values or work ethic?
Your value of integrity aligns perfectly with my personal work ethic. I believe in being transparent and honest in all my professional dealings. It’s not just about being ethical; it’s about building trust, which I see as the foundation of any successful team or project
Describe a situation where you had to make a decision that was in line with your values, even if it was challenging.
At my previous job, there was an opportunity to cut corners on a project to meet a tight deadline. However, quality and integrity are crucial values to me. I decided to have a frank conversation with the PRODUCT OWNER about the risks involved and proposed a revised timeline that would not compromise the project’s quality. It was challenging, but it ensured that we delivered our best work.
How would you promote and embody our mission and values in the ITSM role?
As a Senior Management Lead, I would ensure that every phase of a project aligns with the mission and values. This means not only meeting technical specifications but also ensuring that the end product serves the greater good. I would also lead by example, demonstrating the values in my interactions with team members, stakeholders, and clients. Additionally, I’d advocate for regular team reflections on our mission and values, ensuring they remain at the forefront of our work.
Have you ever worked in an environment where the company’s values were different from yours? How did you handle it?
Yes, early in my career, I worked for a company that prioritised speed over quality. This was challenging for me because I value thoroughness and quality. Instead of becoming disillusioned, I took it as an opportunity to champion quality within my team, showing the long-term benefits of doing things right the first time. Over time, we saw fewer errors and happier clients, which led to a shift in the department’s approach.
