Monks (males) and nuns (female) are people who commit themselves fully to religious life.

They lead religious teachings and are completely devoted to their faith.

What is chaplains?
Chaplains represent the faiths and belief systems of the local parish

Chaplains work in hospitals, mental health facilities, correctional institutions, children’s hospitals, hospice centers, and nursing homes
How does a prison chaplain fulfil the mission of the catholic Church?
Prison chaplains have traditionally been sent by the church to minister in prisons to comfort and rehabilitate. They provide mass services, give holy communion and more
What does it mean to say the Catholic Church is the ‘Body of Christ?’
Christ is the head of the church and we are called to do the work of Christ, each like members of a body.
What does it mean to say the Church is ‘One Body, many parts’?
The unity of the church is as real as a body’s unity, even though the body, like the church, is made up of different members.

absolute poverty or relative poverty

A lay person is: ordinary member of the church (not ordained)
A laity is: plural for ‘lay’
