Why do you want to be a mission air crew?
I am looking for a career
- where I am challenged both physically and mentally.
- enjoy competing and solving problems.
- Best environment to improve my leadership skills

- Student Chief of Defence Force Program was a goal for me to achieve an ATAR of 95+

- I want to learn the technical aspects of the airforce and be able to apply this skill to help and protect others.
- I find the types of missions associated such as surveillance, combat and humanitarian aid interesting

What stream would you like to enter and why?
I would like to enter as a WSO because:
- This is where I believe my skills would be best utilised
such as: think quickly, adaptive, effective communication, problem solving, composure and technical ability. - The job I am most interested in
- Working with the pilot as well as team
How will you cope living away from home
- Building new relationships
- Keep in contact with family and friends
- I am independent
- Joining clubs that are available at ADFA

How do you respond to criticism?
- Listen to criticism

How long have you wanted to be a mission air crew member/aviator and what started your ambition?
- I started looking into it last year
- One of my friends is at ADFA and is really enjoying it
- Initially I liked the diversity of the role
- physically active, practical in the sense its a hands on job, mentally challenging
- Wanting to further develop my leadership skills
If you fail Mission course? will you remain in the service? or what will you do
- If I fail I would still like to do an Officer job
- Firstly, I would do my best to be successful in my training however, if failure did occur I believe there still a place within defence. I would look for another career within the RAN or RAAF.
- I see a job in the ADF something I would like to do for my whole career

- I believe I am a discipline person everyday

- Basketball wanted to be a Rep player, go to state trials, play QSL
- I did S&C training, basketball training, skills training, Sprint training, running on weekends.

why do you want to become an officer and not just a general service personnel
- I want to be a good leader
- It will give a variety of opportunities

Whats a CO and an NCO?
- All commissioned officers outrank non-commissioned officers (e.g., a sergeant).
- The most significant difference between commissioned and non-commissioned officers is their level of authority over other service members

- I created Flash cards

- Understand my strengths when retaining information to study efficiently. I am visual learner so I best learn from watching videos and applying skill

- Fulfilling a role in the ADF

what aircraft would you like to operate on and why?
I would be happy to operate on any RAAF or RAN aircraft. If I had the choice I would prefer
Super Hornet
- WSO operate on this aircraft
- Work in an elite program
- I find the theory associated with this aircraft interesting

- The agility and how maneuverable separates this aircraft from any other
- taking off and Landing in such a short distance

How did you go during your ASP?
- As far as testing goes I was definitely challenged. The ATC test was particularly difficult. Overall, I was pretty happy how I went with ASP. I believe I prepared well overall.
- I found the briefs very helpful and changed my preferences as I learned about more jobs.
- Being around other candidates and current ADF members was further motivation and reassurance that this what I want to do as a career.
What could you have done to improve?
- I would have liked to keep in contact with other applicants

what would you do if you thought a leader was doing the wrong thing?
- Firstly be knowledgeable and be certain a mistake as been made
- When the time is right, be respectful and confront leader

what would you do if your aircraft captain/commander was about to break a safety rule?
- When the time is right, be respectful and confront leader
- Depending on the severe the safety breach, may require a more urgent action
- Safety in the workplace should be a priority
how would you react if you were offered a position in a service other than the one you are applying for?
- I would most likely accept as I believe there is a place for me in the ADF
- There a many opportunities available with other jobs
would you prefer to work in civilian aviation? why or why not?
- No purpose (essentially taxi driver)
