Gel electrophoresis
A
One stage of making a DNA profile. This process is used to separate DNA fragments based on length. The DNA sample is loaded into wells in an agarose gel. Then the negatively charged DNA is attracted towards a positive electrode. Shorter pieces travel faster and therefore further (through the agarose gel) in the time.
