What segments does the missed approach contain?
- Initial segment
- Intermediate segment
- Final segment
Define the different missed approach phases
- Initial phase (from MAPt to SOC)
- Initial phase (SOC to 164 ft above obstacle)
- Final phase (from 164 ft above obstacle to beginning of a new approach, holding or return to en-route)
At what point is the missed approach initiated?
If visual reference is not established
3D approach: DA/H
2D approach: not below MDA/H
How is the MAPt defined?
a) The point of intersection of a glide path with the applicable DA/H in APV or precision approaches; or
b) a navigation facility, fix, waypoint or a specified distance from the FAF/runway threshold for PBN non-precision approaches
What are the max speeds in the different missed approach phases for a CAT A aircraft?
- Intermediate: 100 kts
- Final: 110 kts
