What does High risk mean?
High risk means ‘The risk of serious to the subject or the public is assessed as very likely’ (COP, 2022)

CAWNS should only be used when there are serious concerns regarding the safety of a young person.
What is a CAWN?
Child Abduction Warning Notice - a measure used by police and social care to safeguard children from others that may place them at risk of significant harm due to their associations/inappropriate relationships.
The notice is given to the suspect.
