Mise Éire Le Padraig Mc Piarais Flashcards
Rinne mé staidéar ar an dán ‘Mise Éire’ le Pádraig Mac Piarais.
I studied the poem Mise Éire by Pádraig Pearse
Is maith liom an dán mar tá go leor mothúcháin sa dán.
I like the poem because there are a lot of emotions.
Úsáideann an file íomhánna agus teicnící difriúla chun na mothúcháin láidre a léiriú.
The poet uses different images and techniques to portray the strong emotions.
Tá bród ar an tír mar gheall ar na laochra ar nós Cú Culainn.
The country is proud because of heroes like Cú Culainn.
tá díomá uirthi mar tá Éire díolta ag a leanaí agus ag ceannairí na tíre.
She is disappointed because Ireland is sold by her children and leaders.
Tá brón uirthi freisin mar fuair laochra na tíre bás ag troid.
She is sad aswell because the heroes of the country died fighting.
Bhí dochas aici uair amháin.
She had hope once
Anois, tá sí uaigneach cosúil leis an gCailleach Bhéarra ag fanacht ar a fear céile filleadh abhaile.
Now she is lonely like the the Cailleach Bhéarra waiting on her husband to come home.
Chomh maith leis sin, is maith liom na teicnící difriúla a úsáideann an file tríd an dáin
As well as this, I like the different techniques throughout the poem.
Is meafair é teideal an dáin.
The title is a metaphor
agus usáideann an file athrá freisin chun béim a chur ar na príomhsmaoint
and the poet uses repetition to emphasise the main points.
Úsáidtear pearsantú freisin mar déanann an file comparáid idir an Chailleach Bhéarra agus an tír.
Personification is used because the poet compares the Cailleach Bhéarra and the country.
Ceapaim go bhfuil stair na hÉireann agus tírghrá na téamaí is láidre sa dán seo. Is dán stairiúil é.
I think the history of Ireland and patriotism are the strongest themes. It is a historical poem.
Is pearsa an-tábhachtach é an file ó thaobh cultúr na hÉireann de
The poet is an important person in relation to the history of Ireland
Labhraíonn an file mar Éire agus bíonn sé ag labhairt faoina dúshláin agus buanna trí stair na hÉireann.
The poet speaks as Ireland and he talks about the challenges and victories through the history of Ireland.
