What is a + Pemberton’s Test?
A
Facial plethora —> resp distress when arms raised above the head for 2-3 mins
Indicates:
- Thoracic inlet obstruction
- SVC obstruction
- (Retrosternal goitre)

AKA intrarterial injection

Causes of ‘acute aortic syndrome’
A
Dissection
Ruptured or leaking AAA
Penetrating atheroma
Intramural haematoma (usually spont from small vessels within wall)
Traumatic transection
Always consider these differentials when thinking dissection..
