Why do you want to go this school?
- research; King’s stood out to me
- inspired by Kolmogorov Physics and Mathematics School in Moscow, established by Andrey Kolmogorov felt like a sign -> I look upto him as a mathematician
- vision and ethos, core values, the way the students talked in the YouTube videos published and open evening
- everything resonated with me
- the weekly maths challlenge, stimulating, I have completed lots and sent over some to the kings team
- the curriculum and opportunities available would be a privilege
-stimulating, challenging environment where I can learn more about the subject I love - the feeling I had walking outside the exam hall, during the exam, it was so exciting and enjoyable, my mum said my face was glowing with joy
- privilege to go to a math focused school
Who is someone you admire?
Andrey Kolmogorov.
Have you applied to any other schools?
No, I haven’t.When I was researching, no other school really stood out to me like this. I wanted to put my full focus on giving the admissions process for King’s, giving my best shot. I feel like its worth stepping outside my comfort zone in my current school, for an opportunity like this.
What about your interests and hobbies?
3 KEY AREAS: Learning, Hobbies, Movement
- Learning: I love learning new things and stimulating activities, that feeling when something clicks or you are applying something new you learnt is so amazing
- Learning: e.g. rubix cube, sudoku, wordsearches, researching and reading about various concepts, HUGE BOOKWORM (fiction and non fiction)
- Hobby: I play Piano, Grade 5 ABRSM; compose music in my freetime
- Hobby: I love gardening and cooking for my family as a treat
- Movement: tabletennis, weekly badmintion sessions with my family
How do you deal with setbacks?
1 - Take a deep breath, remove myself from the situation, reflect on it and come back with a new outlook/ fresh mind, asking others for advice, and try again …I am someone who doesn’t quit easily
2- Setbacks are a part of life, its ok, tackle the problem in a different way and learn from it
How do you work effectively with others in a team?
Teamwork is all about everyone doing their part, and listening and learning from each others ideas.
The point of being in a team is communicating and supporting each other.
- valuing everyone’s ideas, setting up clear communication, clarifying roles and responsiblities is key
What are some achievements you are proud of?
Academically:
- Proud I got to the interview stage
- Second stage in the Oxford University Computational challenge (but I couldn’t actually partipicate because of tech issues)
Personal:
- Grade 5 ABRSM (its been quite a lot to juggle)

What are your weaknesses?
Public speaking: I get quite afraid of it.
- to combat it: Y7 Y8 Y9 I ran for Form Captain, involves giving a speech. It was so scary but I still kept on doing it
- Y10 Y11 I have been Form Captain, and now I regularly stand in front of my class to deliver activities
What are your strengths?
I am determined
- I** don’t give up easily**, I persevere when something looks difficult or hard
I am quite organised
- Working as form captain and as a classroom assistant in a tuition centre, I have learnt to become organised, having delivered lots of tasks with short deadlines requiring lots of cooperation
