The safety loop circuit is tested for a short circuit

What does this do?
Turn the Safety Loop Supply switch to RESCUE
This allows the power from the rescuing train to energise the Safety Loop (disengaging brakes)
When a saloon door is released and opened, how long will it remain open for?
1 minute
What does the Service Retention Feature allow us to do when assisting a special needs passenger?
Allows saloon doors 1, 2, 5 and 6 on the leading motor to remain open for 10 minutes, when the Key has been removed from the key switch
What does the Secondary Release feature do when an obstruction is detected?
The saloon doors will attempt to close 4 times at 3 second intervals
What happens after the doors have attempted and failed to close 4 times?
The doors remain released, a beeping tone will sound in the passenger saloon for 60 seconds
On what doors are the External Emergency Releases?
Motor cars= 1, 2, 5 & 6
Trailer cars= 2 & 5
What will occur when a DER is activated?
-Door close light will flash (blue)
-Traction power will be available while the train is still running, but if stopped, traction power will be inhibited
-The CCTV covering the door will display an image of the area around that door
-The ANSW button (red) on the console will flash
-The ‘door emy handle activated’ status light will illuminate
What will happen when a PEI is activated?
-Cab speaker will switch on
-An alert tone will sound
-The ANSW button will flash RED until pushed
-CCTV will activate once the Driver answers the call
