Total Quality Management (TQM)
Continual process of detecting and reducing or eliminating errors in manufacturing, streamlining SCM, improving cust ep, and ensuring that EEs are up to speed w training. Originated during 1940s in manufacturing.

Stratification Chart
Separates data in a way that illustrates patterns, aids in ID poss strats for problems as the problems are easier to ID

What are some tactics unions can use to organize employees?

Salting
Labor Union tactic. Union pays individual to apply for a position at a specific workplace with intent of organizing a union
Leafleting
Labor union tactic. Union members produce and distribute materials to communicate the advantages of the union and the benefits it will bring to the workforce
Bannering
Labor union tactic. Union members attempt to pressure org by placing obvious signs outside the org to advertise a msg to public and EEs about the org business practices
Picketing
Labor union tactic. Group of EEs protest outside a business to draw public attention to the dispute or prevent deliveries to a business that the union is trying to influence in some way
Promissory estoppel
Contract law that prevents an individual from retracting a promise provided that the promise is clear, specific, reasonable, and one party acts on the agreement even w/o a legal contract
