Why miracles might lead people to believe in God?
- No scientific explanation so this is proof of God
- Since natural laws have been broken only God can do it since he made them
- Those apart of it or witnessed it may feel like they had direct contact with God
- No other possible explanation an Atheist or Agnostic may look to God for an answer
Arguments against miracles as proof that God exists
- They may simply be coincidence or uncommon events
- Limited scientific and medical knowledge yet is always developing so it may be explainable later
- Just because something is unexplainable does not mean it is God
What do miracles show about God?
- God communicating or interacting with humans
- Omnipotent nature of God (unexplainable power)
- Healing miracles exemplify love for humans (omnibenevolent)
Why Catholics believe that miracles can still happen today?
Since there are so many miracles in the Bible it isn’t unreasonable for them to happen today
Why are miracles essential?
Necessary to help Christians to believe (John 4:48 - Jesus suggests this)
Why does miracles not happen in every time of need?
God cannot say yes to every request as that it may be apart of a bigger plan for that individual that only a omniscient God can understand
