The figure heads role to represent the organisation to the outside world
Anstrong figurehead can lead to valuable PR and media attention

The leaders role is to inspire and motivate employees
A strong leader can instil loyalty from the workforce/may reduce of staff turnover

The liaison role involves developing relationships and channels of communication both within and out of an organisation
Managers can foster relationships of those who could later provide favours and important information to assist the running and the success of the business

Examining information received from internal and external sources
Checking progress since your plans are on target

The spokesman’s role is to transmit information to external stakeholders

Comes up with ideas and make decisions on the business direction

Both compromise and persuasion are necessary tools in this role
