Push:

Social: avoiding discrimination or persecution because ones racial, ethnic gender, or religious identity
Political: being at odds with ones government - face abuse, persecution, discrimination
Environmental: Escaping harm from natural disasters, drought, etc
Pull:
Economic: perceived prospect of economic opportunity
Social: safe havens away from persecution, areas more open to diversity
Political: safe havens away from persecution, perceived asylum-friendly or refugee-friendly destinations
Environmental: desirable areas away from manmade or physical hazards
