key light (strongest)
fill light ( fills in shadows created by key ) brace light ( distinguishes from the background)
low contrast, darker lighting, flattering but less detail
soft lighting
high contrast, very bright, high details
hard lighting
where light comes from, can be meaningful, how light can “expose” people
source and direction
