Show action or state of being
What are the 2 types of verbs?
Action- shows movement
Linking- connects subject to its predicate
What are adverbs?
Modifies verbs- most verbs that end in “LY” are adverbs
What are prepositions
Show a relationship between a noun or pronoun and some other word in the sentence
What is an adjective?
Modifies a verb
Ex- a PURPLE shirt
Purple is acting as an adjective
What is an independent clause?
Can function alone
