Vision – are goals with an end in sight, plans to progress and grow

Large/ Small For Profit/ Non-for Profit Corporate University Historic House Ethnic
For Profit vs Non-For Profit
NFP – Committed to Public Trust, tax exemptions, federal grants $, Education/Research, must be accessible, accreditation (AAM).
FP – About making $, No federal $, no tax exemption, but private investment, not able to be accredited, however less rules, more freedom in exhibits/ content, accession/deaccessioning.
Small vs Large
Small Museums – less money > less often accredited, small staff > more responsibilities, more freedom less stress, or more financial stress, close to local community.
Large Museums – Accreditation, political face of a community or even city, federal funding > more $, must be accessible/ produce research, specialized staff.

Temporary, Permanent, Blockbuster/Traveling
