- Joseph Sr. introduced Oliver to the story of the restoration as it had unfolded.

- Had an opportunity to try to translate, but failed due to misunderstanding about the nature of revelation.

- When he died he was the patriarch of the church and the Associate President.

- One of the 3 witnesses
- Left the church and never returned
- Vocally opposed the publication of the early revelations.
Martin Harris
- Left his wife to go work with Joseph on the translation of the BoM
- Cajoled Joseph into letting him take the 116 pages to his wife. Broke the covenant he made not to let more than a few people see it and lost the pages.
- One of the 3 witnesses
- Leaves the church but returns at the end of his life.

-Restored the Aaronic Priesthood to Joseph Smith and Oliver Cowdrey on May 15 1829.

- Was translated
- Characteristics of Translated beings. A change has come over their bodies so they don’t die. Not the same as resurrection. No death. No pain, except sorrow for the sins of the world. No sickness. No temptation. Can appear to whomever they choose with permission.
