How to find the horizontal asymptotes:

A

When the degrees are the same on top and bottom:
Divide the coefficients of the highest degree.

When the degree in the top is higher than the one in the bottom:
No horizontal asymptote. Find oblique asymptote by dividing.

When the degree in the bottom is higher than the one on the borrow:
y=0

A

Plug in the given numbers and if there is a change of signs then the function has a zero between the given numbers because it means there is above me below zero.
