Midterm 2 Flashcards
Prompt Fading
Gradually removing response prompt when behav is consistently occurring with Sd
Extra stimulus prompt
Added prompt to help discriminate for Sd
Modelling prompt
Shown the full behav
Gesturing prompt
Shown part of the behav
Verbal prompt
Instructions
Fading across prompts
Loving from one to another
Fade within prompts
Use less and less
Learning trial
One round
Physical guidance
Physical assistance
Prompt delay
Waiting
Stimulus fading
Gradually removing stimulus
Response prompt
Another persons behav
Stimulus prompt
Adding or changing a stimulus
Transfer of stimulus control
When the correct behav consistently occurs with only Sd
Most to least prompting
Starting with most intrusive (physical) and moving to least intrusive (verbal)
System of least prompts
Starting with least intrusive (verbal) prompt and moving up to Most instructive (physical)
Backward chaining
Teaching starting with the last (target) behaviour first, and then the second last until the whole chain.
Forward chaining
Staring with the first task and reinforce then move to second
Graduated guidance
Hand over hand or shadowing (hand near hand)
Picture prompts
Pictures for each task in chaining
Multiple opportunity method
Baseline recording for chaining- provide each Sd and record response
Self instructions
Verbal prompts provided by self to help with chaining
Single opportunity method
Baseline recording for chaining- provide one initial Sd and record responses.
Written task analysis
Written instructions to teach chaining.
Total task presentation
Each learning trial complete the whole chaining task with physical prompting or guidance.
ABC observation
Antecedent, behaviour, consequence in an functional assessment.
Automatic negative reinforcement
Self reinforcing like escape behavs
Automatic positive reinforcement
Self reinforcing like sensory stimulus
Control condition
Presenting AO and no reinforcer during FA
Descriptive assessment
Describing the ABC’s of a problem behaviour in an FA
Exploratory function analysis
Testing a range of conditions and a control when you don’t know the reinforcer.
Functional interventions
Extinction, differential reinforcement or manipulating antecedents.
Test condition
Manipulating the antecedent or consequence to confirm functional relationship of reinforcer in FA.
Social negative/positive reinforcement
The reinforcement provided by another person, either adding it or taking averse away. (Attention)
Escape extinction
Removing the ability to escape the aversive stimulus by still presenting it. Extinction for negative reinforcement.
Treatment fidelity
Integrity or implementation fidelity- implement a treatment as planned
Antecedent control procedure
Sd, EO’s, response effort
Contingent observation
Non exclusionary time out- you have to watch them play,
Exclusionary time out
Subject is removed from environment that was reinforcing.
Non exclusionary time out
Subject stays in environment but has reinforcer removed.
Time in/out
Time in - time spent in the reinforcing environment. Time out - time out of the rein enviro
Time out from positive reinforcement
Another word for time out
Restitution
Overcorrection punishment when they correct the environmental impacts of behav and then some
Response blocking
Physically prevent the behaviour, a punishment practice
Positive practice
Overcorrection punishment behav where they have to repeat correct behav
Guided compliance
Physically hand over hand punishment procedure to force compliance. Stop if they start doing it. Negatively reinforces compliance. Positive punishment for non compliance.
Contingent exercise
Has to do a effortful behav that is unrelated to problem behav.
Application of aversive activities/stimuluation
Punishment. Aversive activities is more popular and ethical.
DRA
Differential reinforcement of alternative behaviour- put problem on extinction and desired on rein.
DRC
Differential reinforcement of communication- teach them to ask for it instead.
Differential reinforcement of incompatible behaviour
DRI- they can’t do that and the problem behav at the same time
Full session DRL
Differential reinforcement of low rates of responding- must respond under threshold for the whole interval.
IRT
Interesponse time
Interval DRL
Responses must be under threshold for a certain period of time before reinforced.
Momentary DRO
Momentary differential reinforcement of other behaviour- when the buzzer goes, if they aren’t doing it, they get rein.
MSWO
Multiple stimulus without replacement- give choice of all stimulus, record the order they pick, don’t put the chosen ones back in.
Whole interval DRO
Reinforced if problem behav doesn’t occur during the whole interval.
Single stimulus assessment
Present many stimulus and see which one they pick.
Preference assessment
See what stimulus is reinforcing. Single, multiple, or paired.
Reinforcer assessment
To see which reinforcer is maintaining the behaviour
Paired stimulus assessment
Present 2 stimulus and record which one they pick. Pair each against each other
Spaced responding DRL
Rate of responding must be under threshold for a certain amount of time. Once every 5 seconds.
