Cisgender
A person whose self-identified gender conforms to their biological sex
Transgender
A person whose self-identified gender does NOT correspond to their biological sex
Variations on the X chromosome can cause transgender expression
Hermaphrodite
A person or animal with both male and female sex organs
Intersexuality
Person born with reproductive or sexual anatomy that doesn’t fit the typical definitions of male and female
Alfred Kinsey
One of the problems with his studies was the fact that sexual behavior is not indicative of sexual orientation
Kinsey scale
Sexual preference scale: 0-6
0=exclusively heterosexual
6=exclusively homosexual
1-5=degrees of bisexuality
Pansexuality
Attraction to a person of any sex or gender

A system for describing a person’s sexual preference in a more detailed and informative way
Authoritarian Personality
Enforce strict obedience to authority (esp. government) at the expense of personal freedom
Often tightly linked to heterosexism

AKA bisexual invisibility
The tendency to ignore, remove, falsify, or reexplain evidence of bisexuality in history, academia, news media and other primary sources
Can also deny that bisexuality exists (extreme)

Feeling happy for your lover when they are enjoying another relationship

Heteronormativity
Belief that people fall into distinct and complementary genders with natural roles in life (man & woman)

Heterosexism
Discrimination or prejudice by heterosexuals against homosexuals
Sexual Pluralism
The view that any sexual behavior is morally permissible so long as it takes place between mutually committed adults
Rectophobia
A fear of rectums, rectal pain, or rectal diseases (branches from sodomy)
Transphobia
Intense dislike of or prejudice against transsexual or transgender people
Autoandrophilia
A person assigned female at birth who is sexually aroused by the thought or image of being a man
Autogynephilia
A person assigned male at birth who is sexually aroused by the thought or image of being a woman

The branch of medicine that deals with the incidence, distribution, and possible control of diseases and other factors relating to health
A lot of “medical treatments” for “curing” homosexuality have spawned from the obsession to cure diseases in a society where too many things are considered a disease without actually being one
