A man from Corsica who lead the greatest army in France. Post-Revolution in France of 1789; Made himself appear Ceasar-like.
Louis-Napoleon Bonaparte
He is Napoleon III; First president of the French Republic. Second French Empire. Initiated the Coup d’etat in 1851.
Maximilien Robespierre
One of the largest voices in the French Revolution. Insincerely caused the Reign of Terror; Lead to the death of the King of France, Louis XVI, and his own.
Dreyfus Affair
A Frenchman who was in the French Military; Because he was Jewish, he was blamed on for telling French secrets to the Germans. Anti-Semitism in France.
Vormärz
The term refers to the years leading to the March Revolution in the states of the German Confederation in 1848.
Liberalism
is a political philosophy or worldview founded on the ideas of liberty and equality. Especially during the French Revolution.
David Ricardo
David Ricardo was a British political economist and stock trader. He was often credited with systematising economics.
Berlin Conference
1884–85 regulated European colonization and trade in Africa during the New Imperialism period, and coincided with Germany’s sudden emergence as an imperial power.
Belgian Congo
between King Leopold II’s formal relinquishment of his personal control over the state to Belgium on 15 November 1908, and Congolese independence on 30 June 1960.
Congress of Vienna
A meeting between many powerhouses in the nations of Europe that met together to plan what should happen after Napoleon.
Camillo Di Cavour
was a leading figure in the movement toward Italian unification; Got Niece and Savoy territories. Doesn’t like idealism. (Mind)
Zollverein
German Customs Union, was a coalition of German states formed to manage customs and economic policies within their territories. Established in 1818.
Paris Commune
was a government that briefly ruled Paris from March 18 (more formally, from March 28) to May 28, 1871. It is hailed by both groups as the first assumption of power by the working class during the Industrial Revolution.
