Why did Athens have a Golden Age and what did they accomplish during it?
They made a lot of money from the DElian league, had a lot of allies and a time of peace, economy was very good

Athens dominates the Delian league which led to jealousy, Sparta and allies attack Athens and defeat them
Effects- Greece is weak and conquered by Macedonia

Rome wanted Sicily, Rivaly with Carthage

Rome is victorious after 3 wars and Hannibal is dead, Rome expands and takes Carthages land and money, trade increased
What were some of Romes problems from expansion?
Landless veterans depended on gov for food, leaders were corrupt, Romes army relied on unloyal missionaries (foreign soldiers), farmers couldn’t keep up with slave labor and lost their land, Social class gap widens
Who was Julius Ceaser?
The dictator of Rome that improved rome in many ways, he was a military leader that got sole power and improved taxes, living conditions, and unemployment
Why were Christian persecuted?
They were seen as a threat to the Roman empire
Why and how were Jews persecuted?
They didn’t attend the town events and their beliefs didn’t align with the popular religions at the time, they were exiled

How was Legalism and Confucianism similar?
They are both strict Chinese religions that believe in strong governments
How are Hindusism and Bhuddism similar
both belief in following your dharma to get good karma so you can end the cycle of reincanation
Who was Shi Huangdi?
A Chinese ruler that unified China with Legalism, built the great wall, burned scholars, and believed in harsh punishments
What’s Hellenistic culture?
A combination of Greek, Persian, Indian, and Egyptian cultures that united them under Alexander the Greats rule
Who was Alexander the Great?
Ruler of Macedonia that expanded the empire across a vast amount of land and countries, kind to his citizens but empire wasn’t well ruled and fell apart 20 years after his death
