Q

what was the story of Vimilikirti in chapter 2 of the Vim sutra?

A

Vim uses skillfull means, manifesting an illness in this case, to attract thousands of people to him. He then uses this time to teach the dharma. Vim states that the bodies of ppl (sentient beings) is impermanent and can’t be relied on to always be healthy/keep you safe/free from suffering and therefore people should generate the intention to acheive the same enlightenment as a buddha so they can attain the body of a Buddha which is generated from pure dharmas. this body and wisdom frees sentient beings from suffering
