Q

What happens to the albatross in the Rime of the Mariner?

A

It’s shot by the captain, and then the weather gets good, so the sailors aren’t pissed at the mariner for killing a so-called good omen. Then the ship is cursed: the wind stops. With an albatross around his neck, they all get so thirsty that when the mariner sees a ship, he bites himself and drinks blood to alert the crew. Death and Life-in-death (from the ship), bet on the death of the crew. The crew dies and then comes back to life as pseudo-zombies. Hermit, Pilot, and co-pilot save Marnier from the sinking ship. The Hermit prays, and after the Marnier is compelled to tell his story to certain people since then.
