What is rationalism?
Rationalism has to do with human reason and the power of logic and deduction. Reason gave birth to the enlightenment which affected both philosophical and literary works of the late to mid 18th century.
What is romanticism?
It is a way of living and thinking opposed to rationalism which relied mostly on feelings, emotions, and matters of the heart.
When did enlightenment begin?
Some say it began in 1688 when William and Mary were placed on the throne. Some say in 1715 with the death of Louis the IV.
When does enlightenment end?
Some say it ends in 1789 with the french revolution. Some say in 1804 with the death of Emanual Kant.
What years did romanticism exist?
Between 1800 and 1850.
